Stunning space images, with kind permission from Astrophotographer Bob Ford. Starlight collaboration series

Bob is a well respected, published artist and photographer, specialising in photographing the universe at its best. We have worked together to bring a collection of Bob's images for use as backing papers.

New * Andromeda & Heart for summer 2016

  • Wizard Nebula--Fabulous photo with a little bit of magic
  • The Moon -- in its fabulous glory, the surface, looks as if you could reach out and touch it.
  • Pink--Veil Nebula, stunning mix of pinks and contrasting dark sky gives a wonderful depth making this a spectacular image
  • Green---Rosette Nebula, fabulous mix of turquoise and green. Nature at its best

* 300 gsm Oyster Wove

Wove option on the moon fills an A4 sheet, has a fabulous contrast of light and dark, printed to a high quality on heavy card

Film

Printed onto Xerox professional acetate film, this is a thin transparent printable transparency. Once printed the image is translucent with a concentrated print (though not transparent), finished with a slightly matte coating on one side due to the specialist inks used in printing.

There is a slight border on the edge of the acetate prints, making them slightly smaller than A4,
The moon is the exception on the acetate which is printed at approximately 20.5 cm square.

May be used as background papers in items for sale, though must not be used as a stand alone item or copied for reproduction.

About Bob

By day I work for the government, but in my free time I am an astrophotographer and I draw thousands of little people! (websites below!)

I built an observatory in my back garden and have a number of telescopes and "astro" cameras which I use to create images of deep space, planets, the moon and the sun. Deep space images take up to 20 hours of exposure time and 5 hours of processing.

I am thrilled to bits to be working with Angie and Paper Story!!

Framed professional photos are also available from Starlight Pictures

All works are copyright protected, not for reproduction. Thank you

The Rosette Nebula

The Rosette Nebula is about 5,200 light years away from earth. What that means, is that a particle of light travelling at the speed of light, takes 5,200 years to reach us. So the image shows what this region of space looked like in 3200BC. Wow...
